Knoxville, Tennessee
Brenda's East Tennessee Homes Blog
Knoxville, Tennessee is a great place to live work and raise a family.
Not only is Knoxville a short drive to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, it is situated on an international waterway and has 82 public parks. The close proximity of Knoxville to two-thirds of the population of the United States east of the Mississippi River, makes it an excellent location from which to access many tourist cities in eastern America.
Other reasons to relocate to Knoxville include:
Knoxville is one of the fastest growing cities in America.
There are 140 schools in Knoxville, including a home schooling network. Plenty of lakes and rivers for fishing and watersports. Camping on lakes and in the mountains. Knoxville has the largest number of restaurants, per capita, than any other city in America.
Knoxville offers excellent shopping malls, including Turkey Creek which has more than 300 acres of space zoned for retail shopping outlets, medical facilities, theaters, office space, banks, restaurants and hotels.
If that is not enough Pigeon Forge is just a short drive away and loaded with outlet malls, such as Tanger Outlets Five Oaks, Belz, and others, not to mention a new mall "Dumplin Creek" is being developed right off I-40 at exit 407 near Bass Pro Shops.
Knoxville is home of the University of Tennessee. Sports fans will love our Tennessee Vols Football and Basketball teams as well as our Lady Vols basketball team. Knoxville is also host to the Ice Bears hockey team. Nearby at Exit 407 just off I-40 is the Smokies Baseball Stadium for the baseball fans. For those who love golf, you will not be disapointed. There are numerous golf courses in the area and Knoxville has been fortunate to host the Nationwide Knoxville Open for several years at the Fox Den Country Club in West Knoxville.
Tennessee does not have a state income tax.
